In March 2017 Boghead Community Group conducted a survey and census of the village.
The reason for doing so was to find a focus for the committee's efforts over the coming months (and maybe years) We were pleased that we were able to reach every household in Boghead, the overall response was enthusiastic and engaging.
Here is a brief summary of the 4 main issues of concern from the survey, and the action currently being taken by the committee;
Quarry Dust, Debris and Noise: We are engaging with the operator and planners at SL Council to ensure they are fully aware of our concerns and we hope to see improvements in the coming months.
Contact: Chris (No.90)
Broadband Internet: We have established a steering committee who have been contacting various government agencies, service providers and voluntary groups to try to find the best approach to improve connectivity in the village.
Contact: Ian (No. 10), Gavin (No. 56) or John (No.14)
Paths: We are making enquiries as to how we can improve the paths and footways around the village, in particular, we are looking to provide a safe walking and cycling route to Kirkmuirhill & Blackwood. We are exploring various options.
Contact: Ann (No. 14)
Speeding Traffic: We are working on exploring possible solutions to the speeding traffic, in the meantime we request that anyone in the village witnessing speeding traffic report it to the police using their 101 number. In doing so please provide as much information as possible e.g. Type of vehicle, company, registration number, time etc.
We will endeavour to update this information as and when appropriate.
